Sketching Workshop with Paul Cornwell - Full day skills workshop and immersive drawing experience

- Location: Coromandel Town, Waikato
A full day workshop aimed at those who want to grow and challenge their sketching skills with practical exercises and feedback. Then spend an afternoon exploring and sketching Driving Creek Railway property. You can also watch a sketching demonstration showing the stages of the sketching process.
Outline of the Workshop:
9:00am Meet and greet, coffee9:15am Introduction to the day, what to expect, discuss ‘what is sketching’
9:30am Workshop 1: Warm-ups and the foundational skills, mark-making, value studies, identify our ‘work-ons’
10:30am Cuppa and a ‘Walk About’ exploring the DCR property to help generate excitement about the afternoons sketching on-site
11:30am Workshop 2: Understanding the stages of a sketch - how to start, worksheets on how to sketch something, some tips and tricks for improved results. Demonstration showing the process.
12:00pm Draw a still life scene in the studio workshop. Review results.
1:00pm Lunch break
1:30pm Self initiated sketching afternoon around the DCR property (in designated areas). Facilitator (Paul) to visit artists as they work to offer help if needed.
4:00pmish Gather back at the base, review work. Collaboratively provide feedback and insights. Discuss how to create better sketching habits in day to day life. Explore different ways to sketch.
5:00pm Class wraps up.
